Two maternal fatalities in the same hospital precede disturbing occurrences.
Following the unfortunate death of Tanya Begum (21) at the City General Hospital and Consultation Center in Gaibandha, Gobindganj, allegations of maternal death caused by medical malpractice have surfaced.
According to family members, Dr. Moshiur Rahman Sadiq and gynecologist Tauhida Yasmin, who worked at the center, are to blame for Tanya’s death owing to claimed incompetence and a hasty surgical operation. The accused doctors allegedly departed the hospital after the incident.
Tanya, the dead, was the wife of Mahabur Rahman from Palupara village in the Katabari union of Gobindganj upazila when the tragedy occurred on a Monday afternoon.
According to her relatives, Tanya was admitted to the hospital after experiencing labor pains. The on-call doctor advised emergency surgery, and she was whisked to the operating room at 2:30 p.m. Her child was born after some time, but the medical team notified the family that Tanya’s condition had deteriorated. Tragically, she died in the operating room.
