This photo card says, “Dear wife, As long as your husband gives a shadow over you, society will give you respect. Otherwise, not.
Be husbandless l, You will be a-
nuisance in someone’s eyes
burden in someone’s eyes
Unfaithful women in society’s eyes”
Such picture cards are spread on social media, especially in women’s groups, very purposefully. I got the picture from a women’s group. These are spreading like a fact, though is not a natural fact, but menmade.
This quote is often used to pressure women into staying in abusive or unhappy marriages.
It is provoking to disrespect single women and suggests that a woman’s worth is tied solely to her marital status, and that she will only be respected if she is married.
We all know the reality. Reality is that society often values men more than women. Men are typically seen as more influential and powerful, and they often hold more positions of authority in government, business, and other institutions. This power imbalance can make it difficult for women to break free from the shadow of their husbands and be seen as equals in society, its not a joke, it is deprivation.
So Menmade society can easily use mysogynist power and influence to exclude women, especially single women, from social circles and networks. This is particularly true in our societies where women are underprivileged and have little access to power, the economy, and their own sisterhood society. It is a sad truth that women are often left out of important decisions and are not given a voice in discussions that affect their lives.
Girls, being single should not be a source of shame or exclusion. It is a choice that can be empowering and liberating for women. It allows them to focus on their own goals, dreams, and desires without being constrained by the expectations of a partner. It is an opportunity to build a strong sense of self and to become more independent.
Girls, lets reject the idea that a woman’s worth is tied solely to her marital status. Lets celebrate and support single women, and recognize that their independence and strength are valuable assets to our society.
