In Baghadanga of Chuadanga Damurhuda Upazila, Morjina Khatun (40) died after being hit by her father’s sharp weapon. Grandfather Azilul Haque cut and hurt 13-year-old Rexona Khatun, the daughter of the late Morjina. She tried to stop her.
After being taken to the Chuadanga Sadar Hospital around 3 a.m. on Sunday, October 1, the doctor pronounced the mother dead.
This was confirmed by Imran Hossain, who is the Deputy Inspector (SI) in charge of the Karpasdanga Police Camp and works for the Damurhuda Police Station.
Hussain, Morjina Khatun’s nephew, said, “My aunt Morjina used to live with her father.” A few days ago, the aunt and her father, Azizul Haque, fixed the house by getting loans from different groups. On the evening of Saturday, they talked about how to pay back the association’s loan in stages. Asizul Haque asks his daughter to pay the bills in payments. The daughter said, ‘I don’t make money; how can I pay?’ asked Marjina. While she slept around 2 a.m., Azizul Haque cut her and left her in a hole near the house to punish his daughter. The second time Rexona ran after hearing her Mom scream, she got missed and hurt. After a while, we got both of them and took them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where the doctor pronounced Marjina dead.
