At the time of the kidnapping, the child was 12 years old, and used to sell flowers in Dhaka’s Gulshan neighborhood. Accused Abdullah kidnapped her by saying that he would buy new clothes for her. After four years of abduction, the RAB operation freed the girl and arrested Abdullah.
At a noon news conference in Tikatuli on Monday (19 December 2022), the Commander of RAB-3 Lt. Col. Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed provided this information.
He said Abdullah used to physically and mentally abuse the girl after keeping her and used her as a domestic worker in his own house even though he kidnapped her for the purpose of selling.
RAB added that the kidnapper once made an attempt to sell the girl’s kidney.
