Madaripur, women raped in fear to expose bathing video
Women raped for fear of exposing bathing videos of her. The accused man used to threaten and blackmailing her for sex. Survivor women tried to suicide several times. In reality, he exposed that bathing video. He sent those pictures and videos to her husband and as result, her family broke down. Finally, she makes her brave and filed a case to the Madaripur Special Court for Nari-o-Shishu Nirjatan Daman. But police still did not arrest him. Police denied to tell anything to regard this case.
This incident took place in a village at Chilarchar Union of Madaripur Sadar Upazila of Madaripur district of Bangladesh. The name of the accused is Deen Islam Radhi (38). He is accused of raping her for fear of exposing her bathing video. The complainant woman resides in her in-law’s house in Madaripur Upazila and she is an emigrants wife. Her husband resides in Saudi Arabia.
The victim’s family of Madaripur alleged that the police did not arrest the accused even though a case was filed in the Nari-o-Shishu Nirjatan Daman Special court in Madaripur.
According to local and case sources, Deen Islam Radhi made a video of her bath on his mobile phone. He raped the woman on (November 13, 2020) last year. He threatened her to publish the scene to her husband and on Facebook. Then he forced the woman to have sex at different times. At one stage, the woman also tried to commit suicide.
Later, on November 16 last year, the survivor women filed a case in the Special Court for Nari-o-Shishu Nirjatan Daman in Madaripur. The court was directed to investigate the case and take legal action. The woman said that Deen Islam had raped her more than once by blackmailing her by showing her pictures and videos of the bath.
She said, ‘He has destroyed my happy family by sending that video to my husband. That’s why I tried to commit suicide. Looking at the face of my four-year-old child, but I am still alive.’
The survivor‘s mother said in a tearful voice, ‘We are poor people in Madaripur. so the police did not arrest the accused. My daughter’s family broke for him. We want exemplary punishment for him. I sake for the religion of Islam.
In this regard, the investigating officer of the case Nasir Uddin said, the case is under investigation. So I don’t want to say anything in detail about this. However, the charge sheet will be filed in the court soon.
